Deciding where to live as a Texas A&M student often comes down to more than just square footage and amenity lists. The Heights and The Barracks both sit close to campus and check a lot of the same boxes on paper, but the way each community actually feels day to day is where the real differences show up. If you’re weighing these two options, you’re probably less concerned with spec sheets and more curious about what move-in day, a Tuesday night in or a Saturday afternoon would actually look like in each place.

Both properties cater to Aggies, but they’re built around different rhythms. The energy of the neighborhood, how much space you get to spread out and what you do when class lets out can all shift depending on which community you call home.

This guide breaks down The Heights and The Barracks across location, amenities, floor plans and pricing, so you can match the right community to your routine, your budget and the kind of year you’re hoping to have.
