How Far is The Heights from A&M's Campus?

The Heights sits 3.1 miles from the Texas A&M University main campus in College Station. By car, you can reach the Memorial Student Center (MSC) in about 11 minutes, Kyle Field in 11 minutes and the Zachry Engineering Education Complex in 14 to 16 minutes, based on Google Maps times on a Friday afternoon in October 2026. Skipping the car? The MSC is 17 minutes by bike or 20 minutes on Texas A&M’s Route 41 bus.

Those numbers change with the time of day, the building you’re headed to and where you park. Below you’ll find door-to-door times to three of the places you’ll go most, how Route 41 works from The Heights and what each way of getting to class costs.

How long is the commute from The Heights to the MSC, Kyle Field and Zachry?

Driving is fastest to every stop, but the bus is close behind for the MSC and Kyle Field and needs no parking permit. Zachry is the outlier: it takes a transfer by bus, so a bike gets you there faster than the bus.

Which bus goes from The Heights to Texas A&M?

Route 41 (Good Bull) runs from The Heights to the MSC bus hub on campus. Its closest stop, Holleman @ General, is 440 feet from the property, about a one-minute walk.

  • Daytime: Route 41 (Good Bull) runs straight to the MSC hub. On the Friday afternoon we checked, Google Maps showed a bus about every 13 minutes.
  • Breaks, nights and weekends: the combined 40-41 route covers the stop.
  • Getting past the MSC: for buildings farther from the hub, like Zachry, you’ll transfer there.

Texas A&M Transportation Services runs the buses and posts live tracking and route maps on AggieSpirit. Check it before your first week, since routes and schedules can change by semester.

Can you bike from The Heights College Station to campus?

Yes. It’s 15 to 21 minutes to the three stops above, and Google Maps rates every suggested route as mostly flat. The fastest routes run up Penberthy Boulevard or Marion Pugh Drive.

A few things to plan for:

  • Heat. August and September classes mean riding in Texas heat. Leave a few extra minutes to cool off before class.
  • Bike parking on campus. See campus regulations for the full rundown.
  • Bike storage at home. The Heights offers exterior bike racks.

How long is the drive, and where do you park?

The drive is 11 minutes to the MSC or Kyle Field and 14 to 16 minutes to Zachry, but parking on campus is the bigger variable. You’ll need a Texas A&M parking permit, and permits aren’t guaranteed: our guide to parking options for A&M students walks through each permit type, its price and the waitlists.

At home, parking at The Heights is $30 a month as of September 2026. Confirm the current rate with the leasing team.

If you’ll be on campus for most of the day and don’t mind the bus, the distance mostly costs you a 20-minute ride. If you have classes spread across the day and want to go home in between, weigh that before you sign.
